Tempe Wetlands
Included in the $17.5 million clean up program of the former Tempe Tip site was restoration of the wetlands and parklands by The Glascott Group.
Major earthworks were also undertaken to cap and contour the landfill itself to prevent access to the contaminates and make it suitable for community use.
Glascott landscaped the wetlands and parks creating more fauna areas as birds and ducks returned to the area. All landscaped areas are irrigated by recycled water from the leachate treatment plant.
The project has won the 2005 NSW Case Earth award for Environmental excellence.
